Jill Amadio ghostwrote this story of a woman's tumultuous life, writing it in the first person. Privately printed for family members only, the autobiography recounts the sad tale of the adopted orphan who became one of the most successful women in her state. Amadio's research and skillful genealogy led her to interview the woman's birth mother and adoptive sisters. Amadio commissioned a family tree as part of the book, and took the women's history back several generations where it was discovered that the American orphan could trace her ancestry to aristoracy in England. A small number of copies were privately designed, printed, and published as leather-bound, first edition-style hardcovers with gilt-edged pages and are now a family treasure. |
